So you’ve been checking out your new face in the magnifying mirrors next to your hospital bed and you can’t wait for the swelling to go down. But there is one thing you should be more concerned about…did you prepare for your own return before you went in to have facial cosmetic surgery? These simple tips will ensure your recovery is as quick and comfortable as possible. Follow these tips BEFORE you go into hospital to get the best results from your cosmetic surgery experience!

Firstly, if you are a smoker then it is important that you stop smoking at least 2 weeks before surgery. This is because smoking impairs circulation and can affect your healing process. Preparing for your recovery includes a whole host of things. Ensure you clean your house for your return and plug in a night light so you can easily find your way to the bathroom- as your eyes will probably be very puffy after surgery.

Stock up on soft, bland foods because the surgery will have affected your ability to eat properly. This includes jelly, frozen foods, soup, etc. Try and stock up on foods that are quick and easy to make, as you will find your energy levels will be low when you return from hospital.

Ensure your bed is propped up with lots of pillows so you can rest your head properly. A reclining armchair may be even better for the early days of recovery. Buy all your medical supplied before you go in for surgery. This inicludes antibiotics, antibacterial soap, a thermometer and even bags of frozen peas for swelling reduction. Mark all medications with the time and date that they should be taken. You will thank yourself later!

On your bediside table it would be a good idea to have crackers/biscuits, water, medications, fully-charged phone and a remote control with new batteries. Fully charge your laptop/kindle/iPad/iPod for entertainment uses. Buy your favourite magazines and DVDs that you have been meaning to see. After all, you deserve it for putting up with the stresses of cosmetic surgery!

One of my colleagues has taken to popping into our local dentist surgery to get Botox injections on her lunch break, saying she can be back within 45 minutes, feeling and looking years younger. Now, I have no problem with plastic surgery; my blog is a testament to that, I suppose! But I find the idea of popping out for a quick appointment to have someone inject my face with poison, before picking up my lunch and some office cleaning supplies a little bit weird.
Maybe I’m making too much of it. After all, Botox jabs or dermal filler injections, which are another popular non-invasive procedure, are hardly nose jobs, or boob jobs or liposuction. There is no anaesthetic involved, little chance of any side effects (despite the presence of a deadly toxin!) and can be administered by people with only a few days training who have little or no medical experience.
Ah! There you go. That’s the problem I have with these lunch hour therapies. Fair enough, my colleague is getting hers done at a dentist’s surgery, where at least you know that the person sticking a needle into your face has some medical training and will hopefully know what to do if you are one of the few people who has an adverse reaction to the substance in the needle. The fact that you can also have these injections at beauty salons is more worrying, and something that I think should be addressed. OK, practitioners have to go for proper training before they are allowed to offer the service, but I’d be worried about their medical knowledge if there was a problem, and also about their scruples in allowing a client to return time and again for a treatment they don’t really need. After all, these are all businesses looking to make money, so they’re not going to turn paying customers away. Even if they should for the sake of their health….

Although cosmetic procedures and more extensive surgery is no longer a hush hush topic (mainly due to many celebrities openly discussing their work) there seems to be one procedure in particular that is still taboo to mention – male breast reduction. The men of yesteryear left cosmetic alterations to their female counterparts, but times are changing and the fixing of man boobs seems to be becoming increasingly popular. Men are normally more comfortable talking cars, gadgets or technical systems like payroll software …. not cosmetic surgery, however it turns out that man boobs or ‘moobs'is actually on a lot of guys minds. Harley medical group state that facts suggest that between 40-60% of men suffer excess fat in the chest area and the procedure to remove it is actually the second fastest growing procedure for men – the first being Rhinoplasty (reconstructing the nose). A BBC news health report published at the beginning of 2011 reaffirmed this assertion, stating that the procedure of male breast reduction increased by 28% in 2010!! The BBC report furthermore offers that around 30% of those who inquire about the surgery of advised to change their diet and exercise regime before surgery is considered. So it seems that the gender construct in cosmetic surgery procedures is beginning to shift and perhaps most interestingly of all, the figures go to show that it is not just women who have hang ups and confidence issues relating to their body image. As the ‘moob remove'grows more popular perhaps guys too will start to open up and discuss their insecurities – maybe even over a bottle of bubbly … or is that going too far?

Hasn’t technology changed our lives? Many believe it’s for good, but others think that it has made us more dependent on machines rather than on our physical abilities. I am from the side that embraces technology and scientific developments with both the bad and good sides. The bad side because it is impossible to separate it. For example if you want to buy red diesel from Crown oil, would it not be easier to go to www.crownoiluk.com and get all the required information, rather than going to their office physically. By doing this, one can easily get to the required information sitting at home, but on the down side one would lose the opportunity to give the body some exercise by walking or biking up to Crown Oil office.

I think that many of those who say that technology is bad for mankind should not take the pain killer that they require so badly to get rid of pain. After all, that is also a part of the technology. One of my favorite development is science is plastic surgery. This is especially good for people who are not satisfied with their physical appearance. However, many who chose plastic surgery often have some unrealistic expectation. These unrealistic expectations can cause great dissatisfaction and can even lead to clinical depression. Following are some of the factors that you must have in mind before undertaking plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons:

Nothing in this world is perfect, even the best doctors with great experience are unable to guarantee a perfect result.

It is impossible to get an exact match. This is especially true when it comes to imbalance or asymmetry between similar body parts, like breasts, ears or eyes.

Sometimes the results are not immediate. In fact, only some cosmetic plastic surgeries produce final results immediately. In most cases recovery time is also needed. The initial recovery might allow you to get back to work, but proper results can only be seen once full recovery is made.

I have an admission to make: I used to be one of those people who is terrified of cosmetic surgery and seriously believes that every operation or procedure ends in the most horrific disaster imaginable…and it’s not my fault. Honest it isn’t.

It’s all the fault of this one documentary I saw a few years ago…

The documentary was one of those really scathing witch-hunts, the likes of which were common when cosmetic surgery was in its infancy and just finding its feet. In the documentary were videos of things that had gone badly wrong, as well as photographs which proved too grisly to look at for long.

That was the day my opinion on all this changed for good. Because now I had the facts and they were very different from the fiction…

And for years I was sure that was how it was…until I met a plastic surgeon at a party and we got into a heated debate. At the end of it, even though he was annoyed, he asked me to consider having an online chat with him when he was in his office next. He wanted to point me to some web links and set the record straight. I agreed.

So, I sat down the following Monday at my computer, feeling stubborn about the whole thing.

The first words he asked me to type into Google were botox cheshire swiftly followed by the address below:

Court House Clinics,

3 Swan Street,

Wilsmlow,

Cheshire,

SK9 1HF

I did so and up popped a series of links about cosmetic surgery, some related to Courthouse Clinics (press releases, customer feedback of their service, etc).

And that, I suppose, was when I started to get this sinking feeling…

See, all the things I was being shown made the cosmetic surgery of today out to be actually quite useful. Not only useful but necessary to millions of people. But the most embarrassing moment, by far, came when he told me to click a link and see a documentary. I clicked it, and it was the one I had seen…which was later denounced as the work of an angry ex-employee trying to do his bit to sink the industry.

The following week I still felt so bad about my rant to the surgeon that I ended up calling him to apologise. I told him how I really shouldn’t have been so gullible and he was goo about it, saying how this sometimes happens and not to worry.

That was the day my opinion on all this changed for good. Because now I had the facts and they were very different from the fiction often reported by the media.

Despite one of the worst economic downturns in recent memory, plastic surgery is on the increase around the world. In the UK alone record numbers of ’man boob’reduction operations have taken place in the last year alone. Overall male cosmetic surgery has risen by 6.6% according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. In the US figures are even higher. With this trend being reflected in many other countries it seems plastic and cosmetic surgery may hold a way through the financial quagmire the NHS in the UK now finds itself in.

Since the coalition government was formed, there have been many reforms and cuts made to public spending and services in Britain. Whilst a lot of this has been necessary for the most part, there are some organisations where cuts could detract rather then enhance the services on offer. The NHS is being reorganised to offer private companies the opportunity to tender for services provided to the public. On the face of it, this change means that the NHS could be more efficient and provide the public more effective care. Yet there is a huge danger that the quality of care could be severely reduced. As plastic surgery is on the increase, trusts within the UK may turn to this as a way in enhancing the budgets and money required for the more essential care patients expect. With nurses jobs and in many cases doctors'jobs on the line, this type of radical strategy may become a necessity.

By installing a plastic surgery unit in a NHS run hospital, the money gained from allowing the unit to perform surgery could greatly assist in maintaining and enhancing the patient care services the NHS is renowned for. Times are tough and the public sector is going to have to think on its feet in order to survive the next few years. The thought of allowing private companies in to tender for public services is a frightening thought to say the least, but it can be avoided with a little creative thinking. The trick is to leverage the existing services and embrace ideas like the plastic surgery inclusion in hospital trusts. Money from cosmetic surgery runs into the billions and as the figures show, people are willing to pay for these treatments. That money could then be siphoned back into the trust budget and allow doctors more freedom to provide the care they need to.

NHS nursing jobs are still being advertised in great numbers. The need for qualified doctors and nurses has never been higher. Now that budgets are being transferred directly to GPs and hospitals, the need for creative and clinical correct thinking becomes apparent. Introducing private plastic surgery services into the budget will aid doctors in doing what they are supposed to do – help all the people they can. With the UK government committed to the reforms, GPs and nurses have no choice but to consider alternatives and look out for their patients alone.

Breast enhancement procedures have been around for quite some time and for the most part with desirable results for those that choose to get it. However, there are some people that for one reason or another, the surgery was a failure and caused more harm than good. However with newer and safer techniques being used the rates of post operation problems are decreasing. There are a few things that all women should investigate before going under the knife in the name of beauty.

The first and most important consideration is choosing the plastic surgeon that will perform the surgery. While there are many “certified” plastic surgeons not all have a good record when it comes to satisfaction of their clients. Finding a good surgeon can be as simple as asking friends that have already undergone these types of procedures. When finally deciding on the doctor that will perform your surgery do not be afraid to ask for references; oftentimes doctors have letters from patients that they can share without compromising any privacy issues.

The other consideration should be what type of surgery are you looking for? Many women are happy to get the traditional implant surgeries while others may want a more natural approach. Do some research to see what is available in your area, or if you would need to travel to attain the kind of breast enhancements you desire.

Finally, once you have made the decision to go forward with the surgery and have chosen the doctor to perform it, you need to prepare your own body. Consider starting an exercise regimen if you don’t already have one; try meditation or perhaps some vegetarian recipes. Any attempts to get your inner body and mind in the best shape possible can only help during and even after surgery.

Choosing to get breast enhancement surgery is a very personal choice and although it is becoming more popular in today’s society it is still surgery and should never be taken lightly. Carefully consider all options available and do the research before undergoing any kind of procedure to ensure the best possible long term results.

Natural beauty is the most sought after quality that human beings crave. Several don’t have natural beauty or at least don’t believe they do, so they get plastic surgery done. Those who have been deformed because of accidents or when they were born also seek to have plastic surgery to correct their problems. Plastic surgery is a way to reshape and correct the physical appearance of one’s body. There are several types of plastic surgeries. Plastic surgery is seen as a cosmetic surgery but that is not solely the case. There are two reasons why people choose to get plastic surgery done: reconstructive reasons and cosmetic reasons.

Reconstructive surgery is done to correct problems related to injuries, infections, diseases, birth defects or accidents. The basic reason it is done is to have the person appear normal on a particular body part.
Cosmetic surgery is done for people who just want to change their normal looks. This is done to enhance a physical feature of the body not to correct it.

Every part of the body requires a different type of surgery. Here are some examples of plastic surgery that can be done:
• Otoplasty – This is surgery done to reconstruct damaged or deformed ears. This can also be done to bring ears closer to the head.
• Rhinoplasty – This is a surgery that is done to reshape or correct the nose. It can both be cosmetic or reconstructive.
• Abdominoplasty – This is a surgery that removes excessive fat from someone’s abdomen. This is helpful to obese people who have a hard time losing weight.
• Breast Surgery – There are several types of breast surgeries but the main ones are breast augmentation (which increases the size) and breast reduction (which reduces the size of the breast).
• Facial Cosmetic Surgery – This type of surgery is done to help enhance the features of the face. It can be done on chins, to decrease aging effects and to remove wrinkles or scars.
• Hair Cosmetic Surgery – There are several types of cosmetic surgery for hair. There are hair replacement, hair restoration and hair transplantation. If you want to get laser hair removal Bournemouth done that is a part of cosmetic surgery as well.
Plastic surgery has a very materialistic reputation however it serves more than the purpose of trying to capture natural beauty.

Breast reduction surgery is something that is catching up in the medical field. It is one of the few surgeries that can be covered by medical insurance. The basic reason for breast reduction surgery is because of the breast being unusually heavy and oversized. As a result of this, there could be many physical ailments a person could go through like poor posture, shoulder pain, back pain, chest pain and other skeletal disorders. In order to overcome this pain there are therapies, medication and other treatments people go through which could be helpful however would not eradicate it completely. Insurance cover is provided considering the health risk which is a possible factor. Some women go for breast reduction surgery because they are not happy with the way their breast look and are uncomfortable. I have colleague who is planning to go for a breast reduction surgery and then she wants to remove a tattoo which is near her breast, I wonder how much the tattoo removal cost would be. Large and unusual breast are a cause of emotional and physiological down fall for many young women, because they would be thin but would have huge breast, which makes them look awkward. Due to large breast you get undesired attention which makes younger women and teenagers feel more miserable. The surgery is in fact a major surgery especially when lots of tissues are taken and as a result there are chances for it to impact breast feeding negatively. The recover process goes on for couple of weeks. There are lots of processes involved in the healing after the surgery. However it’s better to go for a breast reduction surgery if you feel you have a large best.

Let us face it. No other part of your appearance draws as much attention as your face. It is the first thing that people notice about you. Given the hectic nature of today’s hurly burly life, people are under a lot of stress and pressure on a daily basis. Naturally, all this is bound to take a toll on your overall health and well being. So it is not surprising that so many people are facing the dim prospect of premature aging.

In terms of its anti aging effects, there is really no comparison between a facelift and other injectable options like botox. At most, the effects of botox will last for 2 years. On the other hand, the effects of a facelift can easily last for up to 10 years. No contest deciding which option gives you more bang for your buck?

Known as a Rhytidectomy in medical jargon, a facelift can remove sagging and eradicate deep creases below the lower eyelids and along the nose. Additionally, a facelift can also be used to tighten loose skin along the jaw line. The average age range to undergo facelifts is between the ages of 50 to 65, but there are many exceptions to this rule. Many people as young as 40 and some older than 80 also choose to go in for this surgical procedure.

It helps if your Body Mass Index (BMI) is within the appropriate range for someone of your height. This is to prevent any revision surgery to remove excess skin should you shed pounds.

It is important to remember that a nothing can forestall aging permanently. But facelift is certainly the most effective method that mankind has discovered so far.
